Salfia Unani Medical College & Hospital, Darbhanga is devoted to promotion of education, research & information to the low income groups of Muslim minority community. To produce the Competent Unani physicians, who can handle all sorts of cases, medical as well as surgical based on Unani system of medicine with modern advances, to be competent to serve in the medical and health services of the country. The W.H.O slogan “Health for All” remains a far cry and have demand the services of more physicians to achieve the spirit of the slogan.

Salfia Unani Medical College & Hospital, Darbhanga is recognized by Central Council of Indian Medicine (C.C.I.M), New Delhi and state government of Bihar. It is an affiliated unit of B. R. Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

The College has its own building, well equipped laboratories and well furnished library with clinical and hospital facilities. It is also having limited hostel accommodation for only outstation students. Besides well qualified and experienced teachers in all departments equipped with all necessary and modern teaching aids.

Darbhanga has been the seta of learning since long. It has its own culture. This ideal city, Darbhanga was the capital of erstwhile princely state of Darbhanga-raj. At present it is one of the commissionaires of Bihar State. Darbhanga is situated in north east of Patna at a distance of 140 kms on national highway route, which is directly connected by train as well as bus service.

It is no denying a fact that no nation can survive gracefully and flourish without its own technocrats. But unfortunately the Muslim community, second in population in India, is far behind in the field of modern science and technology, in lack of opportunity and encouragement. Dr S Hafeez Salfi and his associates naturally felt the need of a Unani medical college.

This long cherished desire and the demand of the time was fulfilled when the “SALFIA UNANI MEDICAL COLLEGE & Hospital” was established in the year of 1981 under the supervision and control of a registered trust “The Anjuman Ahl-e-Hadees” Darbhanga and protected under Article 30(i) of Indian constitution.
