Department of Moalejat which is also known as medicine is a parent department. Approximately all clinical branches of the Unani system of medicine. Moalejat basically focuses on understanding health and illness of the human body with special reference to the theories and concept of Unani system of medicine and management of all such disease by its the basic principle like Ilaj bid dawa, Ilaj Bit Tadbeer and Ilaj bil Gheza. Departmental activities include teaching clinical and Practical training of final BUMS students.
Obstetrics and Gynecology medical/ Surgical specialty concerned with the care of women from pregnancy until after delivery and with the diagnosis and treatment of disorder of the female reproductive tract. The obstetrician’s main tasks are to diagnose and bring a woman through pregnancy, deliver her child and give new mother adequate postnatal care. The department has played a vital role in extra curricular activities, Such as seminar, symposium and functional OPD and IPD in the hospital of the college.
Ilmul Atfal is one of the department amongst 14 th department of Unani system of Medicine. The course includes systemic instruction in growth & development, Nutritionals need of a child, immunization schedule and management of common diseases of infancy & child hood. Departmental activities include teaching clinical & practical training to the BUMS 3 rd year students.
Department of Jarahat established in 1986 is one of the department of the faculty of Unani Medicine B.R. Ambedkar University, Muzaffarpur. The department is imparting teaching and training of Ilmul Jarahat. at UG. Level the department of Jarahat is pioneer in under graduate course in the subject Ilmul Jarahat. The department has fine integration of traditional Unani Medicine and to Explore the best possible treatment options of the disease. The department is well equipped for students and seminar library, attached with a well furnished sixty bedded hospital having outdoor & indoor Medical care under different specialties. The department has teaching and clinical facilities both from Unani & Allopathic Medicine. We are actively engaged in exploring the surgical and Medicinal treatise in Unani Medicine for research and development in the field. Since establishment, the department has produced many researchers/ teachers/ Surgeon who are well settled and providing their services in the field of Ilmul Jarahat
The dept. of Amraz e Jild wa Tazeeniyat is separated from existing Moalejat department on 24 th May 2013 by the Gazette notification of CCIM, New Delhi. The aim and objective of Amraz-e- Jild wa Tazeeniyat is to impart better education of skin & Skin related diseases and their remedies. As well as to educate the modern technique in cosmetics. The above objective to achieve the goal, succeeded through teaching and training to students by theoretical and practical methods. In the larger interest of the society OPD & IPD units of Amraz e Jild wa Tazeeniyat of Faridia Hospital provide better skin care by using modern techniques. Departmental activities.
The department of Amraz-e- Ain, Uzn, Anaf wa Halaq deals on the study of disease related to Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat and Their management through Unani system of medicine earlier these subjects were taught under the department of Jarahat. The department is based on two disciplines ie Ain, & Uzn, Anaf wa Halaq. The subject is taught at undergraduate level to the students of final Prof. of B.U.M.S. During internship these students are also posted in OPD, IPD and Operation theater under the supervision of the teachers at the department.
Preventive & Social Medicine is the Science of Health, embraces all the factors which contribute to Healthy Living. This branch of Medical Science is globally accepted and enforced in curriculum at UG & PG Level by imparting the education in the field of Nutrition, Environment, Pollution control, Prevention from Communicable Diseases, Maternal Health, Family Planning, Neonatal care, Geriatrics, Immunization and Disposal of waste products. Simultaneously the Medical Jurisprudence & Toxicology/Forensic Medicine is also associated with PSM to educate the Medico-legal cases like Murder, Suicide, Poisoning, Rape and Homicides. The basic principles of PSM may provide a healthy environment for all human beings and to save us from unnatural hazards & diseases. Thus justify the proverb: “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”
